I can see I'm going to be playing a lot of Solitaire over the next few days. Glad you're all okay though! Just to state the obvious, you had us worried.
Obviously if anyone was particularly upset by their nightmare then you can come have a chat with me. Provided I can find someone willing to wheel me downstairs to my office. How long is this is expected to last, Jo?
And I'm sure not many people are in the mood to celebrate but birthdays for this month are King and Prince, Remy, Sharon and Mr.Ford. The distraction might actually be nice if everyone's up by then. We'll see.

Time for a general housekeeping post. Just a few things that you should all be aware of.
Graduation is this Saturday at 1 PM by the lake. Please don't be late. Especially if you're one of the people graduating. Believe me, it's happened before. And on that note I'd like to congratulate Eudora Ross who is the graduating class's Valedictorian. Well done, Eudora!
King Baines and Prince Baines are also tied as the class's Salutatorian so both boys will be receiving the honor. Great work you two!
And the Xavier Scholarship this year is being awarded to Charlie Forester. Congratulations, Charlie!
Birthdays this month are Rogue and Nico, on the 19th and 27th respectively. Lets all try to remember to buy a cake.
And last but not least, it's moving week next week. So all graduating Seniors should be transferred to the Residents wing by Sunday at the latest. Thanks guys!

You know, you'd think by now I'd have an idea of what to say in the aftermath of these events. The truth is though, I really don't. Naturally my counseling hours will be extended over the next couple of weeks to accommodate anyone who would like to pay a visit my office. We can talk, you can talk or we can just sit in silence. It doesn't matter. The appointment sheet will be on the door, please don't hesitate to sign up. And just in case it needs reminding, my services don't extend purely to the students. Any residents and faculty members are welcome too.
Due to the fact that people tend to thrive under structure and with routine in the wake of tragedies, classes will be starting back up on Monday. I believe there's going to be some news about what's happening with your exams so keep an eye out for that. That being said, I need some volunteers. If any of the residents think they'll be up for covering a few classes by Monday then I'd really appreciate it. So far we need substitutes for the following;
Geology and Natural Sciences - Laura Business and Economics - Bobby French - Belle Art - King and Lucille Film and Media Studies - Kate Physical Education (boys) - John Self-defense/Combat - Rahne Maths - Angelica Autoshop - Remy
Drop me a comment if you'd like to help.

I think we could all do with some cheering up so I have a little announcement to make. We're going to be holding our own St.Valentines Day dance on Feburary 14th. Only it's going to be with a twist because we've decided to make it a Sadie Hawkins event too*. The theme is 'famous couples through history' and Miss.Dane is in charge of the decorating. So if you have any ideas or want to volunteer to help, she's the lady to see.
* For our same sex couples this obviously doesn't apply.

[Edit] I'm afraid I've just received some terrible news. Cherry Jolivette was involved in a car accident today and has sadly passed away. I realise this will come as a complete shock to everyone and Cherry will be missed by so many people.
If anyone wants to come into my office to talk, please do.

Well I hear we have some new arrivals! I can't wait to meet you all. In case you haven't been told I'm Silas, the school's guidance counselor. You can come to me anytime that you're stressed out about school or feeling homesick or having trouble fitting in or even if you just want to chat. I have an open door policy so please, don't be afraid to stick your head in and introduce yourself.
Given recent circumstances and the inability of certain individuals to follow Mr.Summers' instructions, I'd just like to stress again that this is a school of tolerance. We don't taunt or insult those who make choices we don't agree with because we're much cooler than that. At Xavier's we respect the views and opinions of those around us because it's our differences that make us all so special. Okay, guys? Don't let me down. I have plenty of videos on the topic of tolerance.

Okay guys, I have some VERY exciting news for you all.
After a lot of careful planning and negotiating, Professor Xavier has agreed to let me take those of you under 25 on a field trip. Not just any field trip though because this one will last an entire three days and push you all to your very limits. You'll be expected to work together as a team and overcome problems using your collective knowledge, brainpower and individual talents. And of course have a whole lot of fun in the process. Has anyone guessed what it is yet? Well I'll tell you!
CAMPING!
Friday afternoon at 3pm sharp we're going to set off from Point A (which is here, the school) and make our way to Point B (the camping site). You'll be split up into pairs (which I'm keeping a surprise till Friday) and be expected to find your way using nothing more than a map, compass and your own initiative. Once there you'll set up tents (four to each) and I'll explain a little bit more about the trip and the things we're going to get up to.
If you could all arrive thirty minutes before departure time outside, at the main entrance, that would be great. That way Senor Richter and myself can count heads and make sure everyone gets their survival pack. ( In each backpack should be: )

In the wake of what's happened, I can assure you all that my office door is open as always. Please bear in mind though that I have a lot of people to see and I'm very tired myself. I want to get back to everyone as quickly as I can but sadly my mutant power isn't multi-tasking. So please remember that the other members of faculty have all undergone teacher training and with that comes the ability to listen and dispense advice. If I'm not available and you need to talk to someone urgently, I would advise you ask one of them. Don't bottle it up, please.
I also have the phone numbers of several helplines. Sometimes it's easier to talk to a faceless stranger than somebody you know. I'll be pinning the list outside my office door so don't worry if you don't want to approach me directly about it.
I'm sorry I can't do more.

Just to be absolutely clear about this, nobody -NOBODY- is going seal hunter hunting. Fighting violence with violence is just not cool, and I don't want any of you winding up with a criminal record for environmental terrorism or murder.
If you guys really want to help the seals, then great. Awesome even. We could organise a petition to send to the Canadian government, or we could canvas the local neighborhoods with posters and information, or maybe we could even sponsor a seal. There's a center near my mom and dad's house which specializes in rescuing sea-lions who have been harmed by fishermen, and they could use the support.
In short, no hopping on a plane or driving North of the border. I'm serious guys.

Guys, guys. Do we have to go over how to properly welcome new members to our community? Lets have a little more respect next time, please. Remember how you felt when you first arrived.
I've been wondering lately if there isn't a big enough sense of teamwork in this school. A lot of you spend your time sniping at each other and I don't think you realise how hurtful your comments and remarks can be to the other person. Trading catty insults isn't a sport, no matter how much some of you treat it like one.
So! I've decided something. I'm going to start a kickball team. Why, you ask? Because it's high time we all bonded, channelled our anger into something constructive and had a little fun doing it! Obviously we need more than one team though, so if another teacher is interested in starting one then let me know?
Anyway, feel free to tell me what you all think.
